The shrimp is the queen of the seafood!

The peneid shrimp farming is an activity which began in the seventies in Ecuador.

The most cultivated species in Latin America are the white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), the blue shrimp (Litopenaeus stylirostris) and in southeast Asia, the giant tiger prawn (Penaeus monodon).

The differents hatchery units are: maturation, laying-hatching, larviculture, algae production, artemia production

The shrimp grow-out takes place in brackishwater, in aquafarms.post-larvae in hatchery

The differents stages of the shrimp grow-out in the farm are: acclimation and stocking of the post-larvae, the nursery, the transfer, the growing and the harvest.

shrimp harvest After the harvest which is done generaly by night, the shrimps are transported in ice to the packing factory.

The pacific shrimp has a white and tasty flesh. It's an excellent luxury product!
