The pisciculture of carps is very old: a book of the chines Fan Li dating from VII-VI century before JC. mention its culture. The carp is the most produced aquaculture species produced in the world!

There are differents carp species which have various diets what makes possible in Asia to cultivate diferent species in the same pond.

The adult of the common carp (Cyprino carpio) tolerates temperature going from 1 to 35ºC! The places which are too cold for tilapia breeding can be appropriate for carp.

the carp is resistant The carp reproduces in a natural way in pond or in an artifical way by injecting an hormone which causes the laying and by incubating the eggs in jars.

In rural fish culture, it is interesting to grow carps with tilapias because they clean the ponds.

The common carp fed with pellets and well prepared is an excellent dish!
